Dexter (Not the Serial Killer)

I loved Dexter’s Lab.  I thought it was a consistently amusing show, and Dexter had this great voice.  I definitely went through a Cartoon Network phase even though I was in my 20s.  My little sister was concerned because even she was too old to be watching Dexter.

I have Never seen the Showtime show out of protest.

I think Dexter would make a great costume.  You could get a wig, some big glasses, and some sort of labcoat top.

I think the best part would be talking like Dexter all night.

This could also be a duo costume.  You could go as Dexter and Dee Dee or

you could go as Dexter and Dexter

Eating the Dinosaur - 90s Costumes

by Ricky

I am currently reading Chuck Klosterman’s new book of essays, Eating the Dinosaur.  In an interview with Bill Simmons on the ESPN’s “The BS Report,” Klosterman said that his original idea for the book was that he would write a bunch of essays covering all of the 90s through September 10, 2001.  The book ended up straying from his original idea, but the book has been very 90s heavy so far and it got me thinking, the 90s are an untapped potential goldmine of Halloween costume awesomeness.

How many 80s nights are there at bars?  Who really likes 80s music?  I imagine that people are more in love with the style and the trappings of the 80s more than the actual music.  I don’t really care to dance to Come on Eileen ever again.  EVER.  On the other hand, will I ever get sick of dancing to Poison by Bel Biv Devo?  Never.  Will Tupac or Biggie or Nevermind ever fail to satisfy me?  No.

Okay, rant over.  This is a long winded way of saying I think the 90s are great and are probably an untapped resource for costumes.  Even if you choose a costume as iconic as today’s suggestion:
